Kate Loewe never really had it easy. Raised in an orphanage without any knowledge of what happened to her parents, Kate always felt the need to be free. But after the director fell ill, she stayed behind to raise the children that still depended on her. It wasn’t until they grew up that she stole away to Appaloosa on a whim, falling in love with the equestrian lifestyle. But eventually, she became lonely and moved to Monte Vista  which is where this story truly begins.

First Impressions: It’s easy to identify with Kate Loewe’s character. To feel like life has been in limbo and opportunities are missed, it’s only logical for Sims to feel the need to be free from responsibilities for a time. The prologue really sets up the character’s backstory so that the reader falls in love instantly on the side of the protagonist. The author, Kate, has written characteristic dialogue that sets each Sim in the story apart and gives them personality.
